The Manatee Ball Hockey League is a USA Ball Hockey Affiliated league that plays out of Lakewood Ranch Park. Our mission is to promote exercise, team work and sportsmanship; we are looking to give kids an opportunity to play and learn the sport of hockey in the at the new facility the Lightning built at Lakewood Ranch Park. Ball hockey is played on a hard court surface on shoes with the same format and structure of a typical hockey game. We will require all kids to wear helmets with cages, gloves and shin guards and have a USA Ball Hockey membership in order to play in the league. REQUIRED EQUIPMENTHelmet: Street or ice hockey helmet with a full face protection such as a cage or clear shield.Gloves: Street or ice hockey gloves.Shin Guards: Street or ice hockey shin pads that cover the leg from knee to ankle.Stick: Street or ice hockey stick.Elbow Pads: Street or ice hockey elbow pads (Not required but recommended)Must have a USA Ball Hockey Membership, players age 6 and under register for FREE, 17 and under have an annual registration fee is $25.
